Who We Are
Academic Resources supports the Office of the Provost by administering academic and salaried graduate compensation, position management, faculty recruitment and onboarding, faculty credentialing, and faculty records management. We provide creative, compliant solutions for colleges and departments, ensuring timely hiring and accurate records that underpin student learning and research across UNT. Academic Resources also provides financial oversight for academic budgeting, instructional fee administration, differential tuition, faculty compensation and pay administration, academic task/augmentation payments, and stewardship of faculty startup funds, ensuring policy compliance and transparent reporting.
Our Strategic Goals (2026–2030)
Modernize faculty and instructor recruitment and onboarding
Expand research capacity through agile appointment processes
Lead transparent, data-driven academic financial stewardship
Our Implementation Priorities
-
Refresh faculty recruitment guidance and launch role-based hiring training: Updated recruitment guides will streamline packet expectations, clarify external ad approvals, and consolidate resources in the Administrator Toolkit. Quarterly hiring coordinator training and a defined credentialing audit cadence will reduce errors, improve first-pass packet accuracy, and accelerate hiring timelines across colleges.
-
Publish a graduate assistant appointment guide and improve on-time appointment rates: A concise guide covering pay schedules, key deadlines, and Dynamic Forms links will reduce confusion and payroll corrections. In coordination with the Graduate School, we will target a 15% increase in on-time salaried graduate student appointments by August 2027.
-
Redesign the academic budgeting workflow with standardized templates and manager training: Updated instructional fee and differential tuition guidelines, combined with KPI dashboards tracking salary commitments and startup encumbrances, will give academic leaders consistent, timely financial visibility.
-
Implement a Compensation Integrity Framework for academic job codes and pay alignment: Systematic oversight of faculty compensation commitments, job code consistency, and augmentation tracking will ensure equity and compliance across colleges and reduce the risk of undetected salary discrepancies.
