Texas Talent Accelerator

The Texas Talent Accelerator — launched at UNT at Frisco in September 2025 — is a groundbreaking initiative founded by UNT with support from the Texas Legislature to monitor and address emerging regional workforce needs. The accelerator includes a broad coalition of regional employers, colleges and universities, and economic development partners working together to anticipate change, align institutional efforts, and foster new opportunities at the scale and speed our economy demands.

    Innovating Sports with New Space

    Housed inside the Plug and Play Sports Tech Center at the Baylor Scott & White Sports Therapy and Research Center, UNT's newly opened Sports Innovation Space (SIS@UNT) in Frisco boasts 6,000 square feet of co-working space to give UNT students opportunities to work alongside international startups, local companies, and professional sports organizations.

    Business, civic and higher education leaders are partnering to meet North Texas’ workforce challenges head on. As part of a Frisco Chamber of Commerce roundtable “UP CLOSE” series, UNT President Keller emphasized UNT’s commitment to strengthen partnerships between higher education institutions, community colleges, employers, and local chambers of commerce.

  • Satish and Yasmin Gupta Center

    Opening Doors

    A $3 million gift from Satish and Yasmin Gupta supports student scholarships and established the Satish and Yasmin Gupta Career Center at UNT at Frisco. Satish Gupta is the founder, president and CEO of SB International Inc., a steel company headquartered in Dallas. He formed the Gupta Agarwal Charitable Foundation in 2005.

    Transforming Logistics

    UNT at Frisco hosted the NSF Supply Chain Innovation and National Security Summit in September 2025, gathering top academic, government and private sector leaders to discuss how to lead transformative logistics change. The summit marked a significant step forward for the Texoma Logistics Innovation Engine, a UNT-led network of organizations collaborating to advance the region’s workforce and mobility systems.
